Since we last spoke, sea shanties seem to have become a massive global phenomenon, which is very odd to see, given that I’ve been in a band singing shanties for the last fifteen years. I chat with shanty stalwart Jim Mageean from the Keelers who recounts tales of travelling the world singing shanties and the surreal adventures which being a shanty singer has led to. Plus, the return of Cassette Roulette, an exciting new game, what’s The Time Mr eagle, and I have an existential crisis, and get a surprise from Miles Jupp.

The David Eagle Podcast. New Weekly Series. Animal Penis Facts, Princess Margaret Erotica and An Anti-social Neighbours Update (With Phil Nichol)
Welcome to my new weekly podcast series. This week my fiancée Ellie and I are joined by comedian, actor and musician Phil Nichol, who takes part in a very odd quiz. Ellie tests out her unusual Christmas present on me. We play an old tape recording from my childhood in our feature Cassette Roulette. Plus there’s an anti-social neighbours update and an erotic encounter with Princess Margaret.
Warning: the following podcast is probably not family friendly, unless you are a particularly openminded/dysfunctional family.

YTV, Episode 5
Our final festive episode of YTV from The Young’uns is ready to watch. Recorded in front of a live Zoom audience, featuring a goose trial, sprout-based escapades, a Christmas kazoo quiz, embarrassing clips from our very first gig in 2005, and a whole host of more.
Christmas Broadcast
Ellie and I did our first Facebook live video this evening. Join us along with a merry throng of festive folk, as we play piano, sing songs, and chat away. Have the merriest Christmas you possibly can. Lots of love.
Merry Clipsmas!
I am the ghost of clipsmas past, and I bring you a compilation of Christmas clips from The David Eagle Podcast. Featuring: a Christmas play I made when I was a student in 2004; erotic bath-based Christmas cracker fun; we hear from a man with a prurient interest in Christmas trees; there’s Christmas music, including some songs I made when I was a child; and lots more.
YTV – Episode 4
It’s the fourth episode of our (The Young’uns) monthly TV show, YTV, featuring our epic swimming battle, Teletubbies, a randy dog, embarrassing early Young’uns recordings, plus not one, but two trips to Hartlepool.
Killing My Dog For Satan
A song of surreal Satanic sacrifice. Not based on a true story. Thanks to Danny Robins for the concept and inspiration.
Fund The Fun!
This site is brimming with hours of podcasts, blogs, videos and mixes, and it’s all free, but you are very welcome to donate a little something here. The money will help create new content, but most importantly will give my fragile ego a boost.
YTV Episode 3
In episode 3 of our monthly TV show we find out what was in Major Tom’s basket, we remember the Battle of Cable Street and Mark Moogalian tells the story of how he ended up playing himself in a Clint Eastwood film. By popular demand we return once more to Hartlepool, there’s a Gothic Metal song for Halloween about Canine Sacrifice, and more of your bespoke jingles.
The Young’uns Present: YTV (Episode 2)
In episode 2 of our monthly TV show we start our very own Olympics, frolic with an American pirate and celebrate the life and songs of the Suffolk singer Bob Hart.
